As every year, we stride along booths of this major exhibition with excitement.

As every year, we discover young editors and designers that urge on our inspirations and senses.

Here is our notes and finds for 2017 trends.

Relief : 3D is everywhere. The materials library from MateriO was very inspiring. Resin between compressed metal grid, burnt wood collage… New materials are volume oriented.

Genocork booth agrees with that trend and gives life to walls made of cork with embossed shapes of the same material. Take a look on the portfolio on our facebook and you will see plethora of shapes that give pleasure to the palm of your hand.

Special mentions for Ethnicraft and Monsieur Kacha for their furnitures outward appearance that have mastered this trend of relief.

Perfect Imperfection : Imperfection gives objets a genuine and precious look. The accident in shaping is mastered and enables unique dimension to objects as if it was built by arts and crafts.

It is also a way to tell story with your dresser for example and to give a dynamic in our contemporary atmosphere pared down.

Take a look at CCDI source (design from South Africa) or Rina Menardi and her amazing red camaïeu!

Playful : It was the main theme of the exhibition but few brands reflect this subject.
Following the lead of the last edition and the return of baroque style, we currently deal with joyful maximalism. Joyful maximalism is a new form of « re-creation » where entertainment is the new precious of our time.

From Kenneth Cobonpue, Brookpace Lascelles or Fatboy and its « banana deck chair », we give user the opportunity to play with design and play down sophistication quest.

Our favourites this year : Monsieur Kacha, Woud, Rina Menardi, House in Style, Cutipol
